The Janesville Area Stitch 'n Bitch is seeking volunteer stitchers who knit or crochet to participate in a public art installation.
This project will involve knitting small and large scale objects for placement later in 2012. It is intended to involve an annual civic event with an interactive public art project, raise awareness for public art and civic endeavors in Janesville, and raise funds for a local nonprofit. It is anticipated that the display will occur at the end of the summer and will commence with a “yarn-cutting” ceremony at which all participants will be recognized.
The Janesville Area Stitch 'n Bitch is a creative collective of all ages and genders that welcomes all with their portable stitching projects. Come work on your project, share techniques, try new trends, or get free lessons in knitting, crocheting, spinning and more. There are never any fees nor membership requirements.
